Donuts and Beer…

I’m writing my first blog post on the road! We’re driving back from KC as we speak — err type. Since I’m not on my computer using my spreadsheets to compute my meals and calories I’m just gonna use a list.

Almond milk
Spinach & fruit salad
4 tacos
1/2 funfetti donut
4 Stella Artois

The spinach and fruit salad was our usual bed of spinach topped with fruit, feta, sunflower seeds, and raspberry vinaigrette. It’s always delicious!

Then we went to Porter’s Bar for those 50 cent tacos. Of course. We went with my friend Sushu. Afterwards we walked by Varsity Donuts and I couldn’t resist their enticing aromas. I picked a funfetti donut with sprinkles. I shared it with Sushu and Daniel so I didn’t feel as guilty eating it. It was tasty but to be honest I liked the frosting better than the actual donut.

After hanging with Sushu we left for Topeka to stay the night at Daniel’s sister Kelly’s house. I don’t know whose idea it was but Daniel and I stayed up late with her husband Nelson drinking some Stella, watching Shark Week, and playing darts. It was fun but left me pretty tired for our big day at the amusement parks. I’m exhausted and we’re still an hour away! I’m going straight to bed after a thorough shower. What did you do for fun this Friday?

Moving Day

The time has finally come! We have our check-in appointment at 9 this morning and then we can start moving in. It looks like it’s going to be a rainy day though. Boo. We had to move out in rain and now we have to move in with it? So yesterday was another busy day and I apologize for not stopping in.

Friday’s Meals:

Meal Food Calories
Breakfast Cereal 120
Almond milk 30
Lunch Subway Footlong Black Forest Ham on 9 Grain Honey Wheat 650
Subway White Chocolate Macademia Nut Cookie 220
Dinner 1 slice of thin crust cheese pizza 210
Salad pizza topper 30
Saudi Arabian Rice 100
Drinks Pabst 576
Total 1936

Oops! Sometimes you just need a cheat day, right? The beer definitely was not a wise choice. ¬†You may have noticed some new items in my diet. Well, we were at Robert’s house for the part and he has some neighbors from Saudi Arabia that came over and they brought some delicious stuff! Check out what they suggested we put on pizza.

(Yeah you know me, eating before I snap a pic) I can’t even tell you what was in it but it was a creamy veggie(/maybe fruit too?) mix that was pretty good on pizza! Then we had some delicious rice that I believe had a variety of spices in it such as cumin, turmeric, ginger, red pepper, and a slew of others that I didn’t catch. It was really good!

Arabian Rice

Definitely was a fun party — nice and relaxing. Oh and Daniel and I kicked some ass at Beer Pong, in case you were wondering. The shorter table was to my advantage!

Anyway I need to get stuff done before move-in, like move a mattress up some stairs and carry heavy awkward boxes so I’ll be back later with Saturday’s update.

Fun Friday!

Happy Friday ya’ll! I’m giving a quick update since I’m about to head to a pool party with Daniel and he’s impatient (it was his last day of summer class so he’s ready to party!).

Meal Food Calories
Breakfast Cereal 120
Almond milk 30
Snack Grande Soy Iced Chai Latte 240
Fiber One Bar (just half) 80
Lunch Banana cream smoothie 210
Veggie sandwich 220
Dinner Soft tacos (3) 339
Total 1239

Yesterday was another busy day working on the table and chairs. I think we’re done with 3 of them and now we’ve started staining the table. Not sure it’ll be done by sunday when we move…

We also ran some errands for things we need at our new apartment, like a bed frame. While we were out we had lunch at the People’s Grocery, a local organic grocery store in down that has a deli. We order the veggie panini and shared it along with a Banana & Cream smoothie. Yum!

I want a sandwich maker so I can have warm sandwiches like this all the time! There was spinach, peppers, tomatoes, cheese, and pesto. Delicious combination.

Then, since it’s thursday, it’s necessary to go to Porter’s Bar for the 50 cent tacos. We went with our friend’s Robert and Amy. I realized by the end of the day I didn’t have many more calories to expend so I only ordered three soft ones. They were still filling!

Disclaimer: These are actually Amy’s tacos because I ate mine before I could take a pic.

They’re just so tasty! Beef, lettuce, cheese, salsa. What’s not to like?

Annnnnnndddddddd I didn’t work out yesterday. But today is a new day and on this new day I did workout — more on that tomorrow. For now, I’m off to drink my weight in beer (just kidding, I hope). Have a fabulous Friday!
