How to make tempeh tasty
Why this works
Tempeh—fermented soybeans—has a mild nutty, mushroom-y flavor. These tricks help it absorb flavors better so that it can be added to any dish!
What you need:
Marinade of choice!
Cubing it gives it more surface area to absorb flavors better but slicing it into strips works well too!
Steam tempeh for 10 minutes to soften and give it some moisture.
Cover tempeh in your sauce of choice and allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes—or overnight!
In a skillet, cook tempeh on one side for about 3 minutes, until it turns golden brown and crispy, then flip and cook the other side.
