1 15oz can chickpeas drained and rinsed 2 cloves garlic minced 2 tablespoons tahini ¼ cup lemon juice ¼ teaspoon ground cumin ½ teaspoon salt 2-3 tablespoons water as needed
Combine chickpeas, minced garlic, tahini, lemon juice, cumin, and salt in a high-speed blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
If the mixture is too thick, gradually add water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
Taste the hummus and adjust the seasonings. Add more salt or lemon juice as desired.
Serve with pita bread, pretzels, crackers, carrot sticks, or cucumber slices.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
If you don’t have tahini you can replace it with a nut or seed butter instead.
