Ingredients

  • 1 15oz can chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2-3 tablespoons water as needed

Instructions

  • Combine chickpeas, minced garlic, tahini, lemon juice, cumin, and salt in a high-speed blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
  • If the mixture is too thick, gradually add water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Taste the hummus and adjust the seasonings. Add more salt or lemon juice as desired.
  • Serve with pita bread, pretzels, crackers, carrot sticks, or cucumber slices.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
If you don’t have tahini you can replace it with a nut or seed butter instead.
